The announcement of Southern Iraq Marshes as World Heritage Site on 17 July 2016 shed the lights on the cultural and environmental depth beside the Iraqi marshes goods and natural wealth with inherited culture which are not found in any other site around the world.

The Iraqi marshes considered as pride to Iraqis especially to the marshes community, which considered an equitable for them after injustice they had suffered from previous times. The Iraqi pride since immortal glory by the good work of Gilgamesh to the immortal struggle of marshes people against the injustice that none witnessed by human before.

Arab marshes present unique evidence or an exceptional traditional culture and civilization that remained alive and present a universal model for the inter action between human and surrounding habitat, that survive as the reeds and sticks.

The recognition in the property outputs and display the natural and cultural OUV of Southern Iraq marshes is very important due to many reasons, its considered the first mixed property (Natural – Cultural) on Iraq level beside the first (Mixed – Serial) world heritage site on the regional level.

Therefore it is important to establish a website for marshes, which had the ability to establish the studies, researches and official reports on marshes and all the activities with field survey and eco-tourism in the property beside the participation in review all the information's and present an window to preview all the updates in this field. We developed this site and been activated to achieve a vision on communication with all segments of community and mainstream the cooperation and participation through its pages.

I am pleased to congratulate and bless on behalf of all employees of the ministry of Health and Environment establishing this website and start work on it as one of the management plan requirements to be a window to spread all the ministry activities for all interested people around the world in the property protection after announcement as World Heritage site, beside all environmental tourism activities in it, and communication site with global organizations that work in this field.
