West Hammar
West Hammar located within the province of Dhi Qar , southwestern city of Nasiriyah. It is bounded from north by Euphrates River, from east by East Hammar , and from south plateau Zubair and main drainage of water that separates it from the southern desert in the east of the country. The total area of these component equal148,393 hectares, including the buffer zone.
West Marshes contains 44 species of plants belonging to 25 families; with seven species belong to the grassy family. This component of nine plant species. 169 species was recorded of birds in the marshes.
Moreover this component hosts more than 1% of global census of the four species: Eurasian coot (Fulica atra) and Eurasian teal or common teal (Anas crecca) and Tufted duck (Alkhaddara Anas platyrhynchos).
The types of birds in the winter eagle Alambraturel eastern Aquila clanga separation scheme and Alhurcar Marbled Teal ducks Iron Aythya nyroca and Bakoiqh-tailed black (Limosa limosa) and Basra Reed Warbler Acrocephalus griseldis and birds blather Iraqi Turdoides altirostris.
